Ecosystem For Inclusive Businesses

Girish Aivalli, CEO, and Neha Bhatnagar, Vice President, Partnerships at Impact Investors Council (IIC), were invited to a roundtable discussion hosted by Invest India and Ecociate Consultants. The session focused on cultivating an ecosystem conducive to inclusive businesses (IBs). During the discussion, representatives from diverse backgrounds explored valuable perspectives on the national and regional landscape of inclusive businesses, while also delving into successful case studies within India. The session set the stage for insightful deliberations, paving the way for future collaborations and initiatives in the field of inclusive businesses.


Blended Finance for PURE Technologies

In another roundtable discussion on 'Advancing PURE Technologies', co-organized by Dalberg, The Blended Finance Company, and CLASP, Girish Aivalli, CEO, and Ranjna Khanna, Senior Director for Programs, represented Impact Investors Council (IIC) as key participants. The session focused on addressing challenges and fostering collaborations in the deployment of PURE technologies such as solar water pumps and cold storage units. Discussions emphasized the critical role of blended finance models in mobilizing diverse sources of capital to support the adoption of these technologies and mitigate associated risks

🖥Masterclass on Sustainable Finance Disclosures (SFDR) under Climate Finance Campaign

The Impact Investors Council (IIC) on 16th May 2024 hosted an insightful Masterclass on 'Demystifying SFDR & its Impact on Climate Tech Investing in India,' supported by the Neev Fund. Co-facilitated by BTG Advaya and White & Case LLP, the event drew over 130 attendees from various backgrounds, including asset managers, foundations, family offices, social enterprises, ecosystem players, and students.

During the session, industry experts delved into the essential aspects of SFDR, shedding light on its core concepts, objectives, and its potential role in assisting Indian investors to align their practices with international standards.

🌏Designing Innovative Financing Mechanisms for Inclusive Businesses - IIC @ Impact Harvest Forum, Thailand

The Impact Investors Council (IIC) has been invited by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), representing India, to lead a workshop at the Impact Harvest Forum. Supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the forum is scheduled for 23rd and 24th May 2024 at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand. In this role, IIC will facilitate discussions and collaborative sessions focused on inclusive business solutions within the agriculture sectors of India, Thailand, and Vietnam. Our objective is to foster impactful dialogue among a diverse range of stakeholders, including investors and government entities, to promote sustainable agricultural development and positive impact.

The 9th edition of the IBFC Bulletin, will carry insights on recent case studies and news from the blended finance landscape of India.

IIC has been invited by the Norway India Chamber of Commerce and Industry to participate in Oslo's India Day event this June. We shall be representing India's impact investing landscape, showcasing its diverse initiatives and contributions. It would help further our agenda for 'The India Room' by fostering collaborations and knowledge exchange, highlighting India's commitment to social impact on a global platform.
