Abler Nordic (formerly Nordic Microfinance Initiative - NMI) was established in 2008 in Oslo, Norway, as a partnership between the public sector and private investors. The firm invests in institutions that are building financial inclusion in Africa and Asia. Abler Nordic is committed to achieving sustainable financial returns, focusing on companies with significant growth potential in their local markets while ensuring financial sustainability. Abler Nordic works with management teams to develop the financial potential of the company, with equity investments typically lasting 5-8 years. The firm also offers two support schemes—Technical Assistance Facility (TA) and First Loss Support (FLS)—to help portfolio MFIs meet their social and financial objectives.

The Month That Was

Prabhav 2024 was a grand success! The fifth edition, held on the 12th and 13th of September in New Delhi, welcomed over 550 attendees from more than 15 geographies, creating a truly global platform for exchange and learning in impact investing.

With over 1,000 meetings scheduled through the conference app, the event enabled extensive networking opportunities and led to fruitful collaborations. Across 25+ hours of sessions, 141 speakers shared in-depth insights on a wide range of topics—from climate tech investments and debt impact investing to outcomes-based financing and sustainable agriculture. The diverse perspectives and expertise highlighted the dynamism and continued growth of the impact investing landscape.

Looking ahead, we are already planning for Prabhav 2026. The momentum generated at this year’s event motivates us to push boundaries even further and bring even more value to the impact investing ecosystem.
