Forward

The India Impact Investors Council (IIC) strives to provide industry insights through its research initiatives from time to time. After launching a first of its kind study on analysing business model innovation and cumulative impact across the Indian Impact sectors (Link), I am pleased to announce yet another initiative, the launch of a bi-monthly newsletter "Impact Samachar" specifically curated to provide asset owners, asset managers and social enterprises with credible quality information on impact investments in India.

This India Impact Investing Newsletter will focus on
  • Investment Activity in the Indian Impact Sector: Analysis and data on latest investment trends, key deals, popular sectors in the news, key investors, exits and so on
  • Success stories: Showcasing asset managers (GPs) and Impact Enterprises with unique and Innovative business models
  • LP perspectives: Understanding the Investor viewpoint on Investment priorities, Impact Imperatives and other emerging trends In the space.
  • Popular Sector of the Season: Sector-specific analytical pieces on Share insights focused on innovation, impact, financial health and investment flows
We do hope that the "Impact Samachar" prove to be a strong source of information and research for the Indian impact sector. As many of you know, the Indian Impact Investment Industry attracted ~USD 10 Billion in equity investment over the past decade. A large base of low- income customers and a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem make India an attractive destination for impact capital. However, in a world where ‘information is king’ the impact investing industry in India needs more reliable data and analysis, and IIC hopes to fill this gap with its research and analysis.

I also take this opportunity to invite you to our all-virtual week-long event: ‘The India Impact Investing Week: Prabhav 2020’ to be held between 5th to 10th October this year. You can find more details about the agenda and sessions at www.indiaimpactinvestingweek.in

We look forward to your feedback and comments.
