Climate-Tech investments continue their momentum with a total of $186 Mn garnered across 25 deals, during July to September 2023
The quarter of July to September 2023, demonstrated stability in investment value over the previous quarter with a significant contribution of $109 million was seen coming from Ather Energy's later stage funding in September. Sustainable Mobility continued to remain the dominating sector. Other notable investments included those in EV OEMs like Astro Motors and Vegh as well as BatterySmart (battery swapping solutions), which secured $33 million in Series A funding.
Climate-Smart Agriculture & Food, saw a decline in deal value compared with the previous quarter which had an upsurge because of a high ticket deal of $36 million then. However, the upward trend in the number of deals continued with enterprises like SatSure (geospatial agriculture solutions provider), Nutrifresh (hydroponics) and OATEY (plant-based beverage seller) demonstrating the nature of innovations attracting investor interest.
Increasing trends towards sustainable products and recycling practices continue with enterprises like altM (biomaterials), ReGrip (re-engineered tyres), ReCircle (recycling services) and Cirkla (eco-friendly packaging) raising funding, each demonstrating the scope and depth of innovation for waste management and recycling.
