🍀 Post-Webinar Highlights | Scaling a Just Transition in India’s Textile Sector

Our recent webinar brought together investors, practitioners, and ecosystem leaders to explore what it will take to mobilise capital at scale for a Just Transition in India’s textile sector. Key themes emerging from the discussion included the need to embed inclusion, agency, and accountability into transition design, address the “missing middle” through fit-for-purpose capital, and recognise that impact and commercial viability can move together. The conversation also underscored coordination as a critical unlock, alongside the role of catalytic capital in building enabling market conditions for scale.

🌟 First In-Person Discussion – Inclusive Capital Lab 🌟

✨ On 11th and 12th May, the Impact Investors Council (IIC), alongside British International Investment and Sagana, convened fund managers and ecosystem stakeholders for two days of immersive discussions, peer learning, and collaborative problem-solving focused on advancing gender-smart investing practices in India. What made the workshop especially meaningful was the openness with which participants engaged, moving beyond conversations on why gender matters to exploring how gender-smart approaches can be embedded across the investment lifecycle. A key theme that emerged across the discussions was viewing gender not simply as a screening lens but as a driver of portfolio value creation, from designing products for women customers and strengthening workforce retention to diversifying leadership pipelines and building more inclusive supply chains. The energy, honesty, and willingness to learn from one another over these two days reflected a growing commitment across the ecosystem to build more inclusive and gender-smart investment practices in India.
