🌟 Cohort Announcement & Kick-off - Inclusive Capital Lab 🌟

On 8th April 2026, Impact Investors Council, Sagana, and Bopinc launched the gender lens investing programme, Inclusive Capital Lab, conceptualised and supported by British International Investment.

The inaugural session introduced the fundamentals of gender-smart investing, including its application across funds and at the investee level, and the business opportunities it can unlock, without requiring shifts in return expectations or investment mandates. It also provided space for cohort members to share their current approaches and experiences.

As a foundational session, it set the stage for the six-month journey ahead, where participants will engage in structured sessions and implementation support to strengthen their GLI strategies. As part of the programme, each fund will work towards developing or advancing a Gender Action Plan (GAP).

⛩️ India Room at Tokyo | 21st April, 2026 | Embassy of India Tokyo, Japan

The India Room returns for its next edition in Tokyo on April 21st, 2026.

Co-hosted by the Impact Investors Council (IIC) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), this high-level gathering bridges Japanese capital with India's growing impact ecosystem, bringing together investors, innovators, and changemakers from both nations.

So far, 22 Japanese delegates and 18 Indian delegates have already confirmed their attendance. The convening features an overview of the India impact landscape, a fireside chat, and focused presentations on climate financing, agri and allied sectors, and energy transition, concluding with dedicated networking time between LPs and GPs.

The Impact Investors Council will be releasing its flagship “India Impact Investment Trends – 2025 In Retrospect” report, offering a comprehensive analysis of equity investments, sectoral trends, and evolving capital flows across India’s impact ecosystem. Building on IIC’s ongoing research efforts, the report aims to provide data-driven insights to help investors, policymakers, and ecosystem players better understand market dynamics and identify emerging opportunities.


📖 Japanese Handbook Launch | An Investor’s Handbook for Impact Investing in India | Embassy of India Tokyo, Japan

The Impact Investors Council (IIC) is pleased to announce the release of its Japan Investor Handbook, developed to strengthen investment linkages between Japan and India’s impact ecosystem. The handbook provides a curated overview of India’s impact investment landscape, sectoral opportunities, and the evolving role of domestic and global capital. Designed for Japanese institutional and strategic investors, it aims to facilitate informed engagement and long-term partnerships in advancing sustainable and inclusive growth in India.




🖥 ️Webinar - Scaling a Just Transition in India’s Textile Sector

Impact Investors Council, in partnership with Impact Investing Institute, will be hosting a webinar on ‘Scaling a Just Transition in India’s Textile Sector: Aligning Capital for the Next Phase’ under the ongoing programme ‘Unlocking Investor Action for a Just Transition in India’s Fashion Sector’.

Building on learnings from the programme, this session will focus on what it will take to move beyond pilot-stage efforts towards scaled adoption across India’s textile value chain, while considering the principles of a Just Transition. It will explore the role of different forms of capital, including philanthropic, catalytic, debt, equity, and blended finance, in enabling a more coordinated and sustained transition.

The session aims to identify priority actions for key stakeholders and shape a forward-looking agenda to strengthen coordination, unlock capital, and accelerate a Just Transition across India’s textile sector.
